This is a spam message that my Norton Antispam is unable to catch, so it lands in my mailbox, and catches my attention.

Why? Because we were discussing the future of the Antispam market this morning …

Look at how the spammers trick the antispam. All “i”s are substituted by “1″s. Simple trick, at first blush. But the software is not smart enough to learn these tricks and apply correctives measures.

It surprises me, though, that even such basic, algorithmically quite manageable things fall through the crack. Is it utter sloppiness?

Or is Symantec too busy defending its position against Microsoft, to worry about the minimum effectiveness of its product?

Shame on you, Symantec! I have been thoroughly irritated by the Dysfunct1on of your Antispam product for a while now. Today, you even made me write!
