Posted on Thursday, Jul 16th 2009

Thanks to all those readers who retweeted the story. We randomly picked the following 15 winners for “Entrepreneur Journeys, Volume One”.

In order to get your free coupon to Smashwords, you must direct message @sfrocks by midnight Eastern time on Saturday, July 17, 2009. We will respond with a coupon number only for you. You should use the coupon as follows:

1. Go to
2. Add the book to the cart
3. On the cart page, enter the coupon code before checking out

The coupon expires on July 18, so please use it before then.

Also, note that you can still win a free e-book copy of “Entrepreneur Journeys, Volume Two: Bootstrapping: Weapon of Mass Reconstruction” even if you did not win the first copy. All who retweeted before midnight Pacific time on Wednesday, July 15, 2009 are qualified to enter the draw as long as they write a review of the first volume on Amazon. We will pick five winners out of this group.

We are also adding another five coupons for second volume. These will be awarded to those who retweeted the earlier story (by the deadline) AND wrote reviews of the first volume on BOTH Amazon and Smashwords. So if you enter a review on both Amazon and Smashwords, you will enter two draws, thus increasing your chances of winning substantially.

In the book reviews, make sure to enter your Twitter handle and after you are done, direct message @sfrocks with link(s) to the review(s). The deadline to write the review and notify us is midnight Pacific time on August 1.

Hi Sramana – I just wanted to thank you again for the free ebook! I’ve already started reading it, and am indeed interested in entering into the second drawing for Volume 2. But a thought occurred to me – wouldn’t it be in violation of Amazon’s TOS agreement for me to write a review out of an interest in winning a prize from the author.

It’s a subtle point…certainly nothing akin to the companies that have paid bloggers for positive posts or publishers that have paid for falsely positive reviews, but I wanted to float that here before going to write my review.

Thanks again for your insights – now that I’m back in Raleigh we’ll be hitting full throttle!

Alex, we did not pay or ask anyone to write reviews of our liking, so you can review the book the way you feel about it. I hope this addresses your concern about TOS.

Thanks for that clarification – I should have realized the difference. So I presume that you are selecting 5 Amazon reviews on a random basis then of the ones that are written. I’ll get right back to it…
