Sramana Mitra’s Entrepreneur Journeys book series garnered many wonderful reviews in 2009. Thanks to all who shared their thoughts with us. Here are a few of my favorites:
“I liked it so much that I sent it to all of my clients as a year-end gift. I think that one of the things I liked best about the book is that it is so optimistic — several of these leaders overcame what seemed to be insurmountable odds. With the financial markets in disarray, several of these vignettes inspired me to see past the current gloom.”

From Francine Hardaway’s review for FastCompany/StealthMode:
“Sramana Mitra’s Bootstrapping: Weapon Of Mass Reconstruction is a book for our time, because it’s something real out of Silicon Valley. No more stories about legendary VC fundings or startup-to-IPO in six months. In this, the second volume of Entrepreneurs Journeys, her focus is on doing more with less, in tune with the times.”

From Thomas Duff’s review of Positioning: How To Test, Validate, And Bring Your Idea To Market on his Duffbert’s Random Musings blog:
“I enjoy the way that Mitra has structured the books in the Entrepreneur Journeys series. Hearing the successes and failures coming straight from those who lived them adds a human element to the information that is often lacking from other business books. It also allows the interviewees to share little pearls of wisdom that they were given as they grew up.
For instance, D. D. Ganguly of DimDim once asked his father a question, to which he got the response, ‘Men can do what men have done.’ In other words, if someone else has done it before you, there’s no reason you can’t do it also. It stuck with him from that point forward, and it’s been gnawing away at me all day also . . .
Before you get too far down the line with your ‘next big idea’, a reading of Positioning might do wonders to help you narrow your focus and improve your chances of success.”
