As I have said in my introduction to Vision India 2020, the 45 billion dollar ideas that I have presented in the book need to be further researched, and then implemented by the next generation of entrepreneurs. To further facilitate the process of dialog, discussion, research and team building, I have designed an internship for those who are interested in playing a role in one of the projects.
Job Description:
Interns will focus on a specific Vision India 2020 project and develop a web based discussion forum around it to investigate all aspects of the business, from idea validation to team building to strategy. The discussion forum will be public and hosted on my blog, Sramana Mitra on Strategy and will provide an opportunity to crowd source ideas, connections, as well as a sounding board for assumptions.
The goal of the project is to bring together interested and enthusiastic people around the world who care to solve the specific problem addressed by the project in question. Eventually, my hope is that leaders – entrepreneurs – will emerge out of this effort, and they will want to take the projects forward.
As projects mature through the process and teams get ready to execute, I will do everything in my power to connect them with the right people who will help them move forward.
Time Commitment:
Please apply if and only if you can commit to spending at least five hours a week on the program. The more you invest, the more you will get out of this project. I am very confident that this program will change your thinking about your career and life forever.
How to Apply:
Study Vision India 2020 in detail and understand what the projects entail BEFORE you apply, and make sure you are willing to commit the time, energy and intensity that such a project deserves.
Then, make sure you join LinkedIn and complete your LI profile in detail, so that we can quickly and easily view your resume by checking it.
Then, pick a project that really inspires you in a domain that you are passionate about.
Next, go to the LinkedIn group, Vision India 2020 Interns and send in a Request To Join message which should also serve as your cover letter, and state the following:
* What attracts you to the Vision India 2020 project
* What are your career aspirations
* Your preferred project (use the name of the project from the book)
* If the project were to go into implementation, what role would you see yourself playing?
* Your guarantee that you would be willing to spend at least five hours a week on the program
Note: These are unpaid internships, and can easily be combined with other paid internships.
Note for Indian readers: The book is not available in India yet. You can order it from Amazon, ask your library to get it, or you can get an eBook from Smashwords. Alternately, you can also order it in Indian currency from Flipkart.
