Jeffrey Weber had dreamed of owning his own business since high school. He finally found his opportunity, just shy of his 30th birthday, when he established Technology Resource Center. Focused on enterprise software licensing and providing what is now known as a “cloud” solution, his company grew rapidly earning a rank on INC magazine’s “Top 500 Fastest Growing Private US Companies” list in 2001 and 2002. He successfully positioned and sold the company to a Fortune 100.
Weber went on to immerse himself in the entrepreneurial community becoming an adjunct faculty member teaching entrepreneurism, serving as a board advisor for Loyola University of Chicago’s entrepreneurism program, a mentor for Silicon Valley-based Founder Institute and launching High Growth Illinois – an SBDC grant-funded service to provide free counseling to entrepreneurs in Illinois.
Weber is currently launching two new Internet-based start ups and is the author of From Idea to Exit: The Entrepreneurial Journey, which won the 2011 “USA Best Book Award” for Entrepreneurism & Small Business, the 2012 “Small Business Trends” Book Award for “Start Ups” and the Silver Medal 2012 Axiom Business Book of the Year (Entrepreneurship).
