Roundtable Recap – October 17: Serious Entrepreneurs Have Resilience

Posted on Thursday, Oct 17th 2013

Today’s roundtable had several entrepreneurs who seem like serious folks with the resilience to see their visions through to fruition.

HappyWeddings
First up, Janaki Pendyala from Hyderabad, India, pitched HappyWeddings, a portal for wedding organizers to connect with vendors like caterers and such. Janaki is experiencing the slow growth and adoption rate of the Indian e-commerce market, and wants to explore markets abroad.

inDefend
Next, Vikram Kumar from Kolkata, India, pitched inDefend, a solution for monitoring and preventing data loss and overall risk due to attrition, cyber fraud, etc., in organizations. The company has about 70 customers and is approaching $100k in revenue this year.

Foetron, Inc.
Then Sunny Sharma from Gurgaon, India, pitched Foetron, Inc., a solution for small, local businesses to mobilize their web sites. The company has good case studies, some revenues, and now needs to implement a proper go-to-market strategy.

IamAliv
Last, Kamal Nandan from New Delhi, India, pitched IamAliv, which he wants to position to address the issue of keeping track of investment, and other types of information such that when people die, their next of kin can manage the impact efficiently. Kamal’s problem identification is excellent. This is a real issue. I did not agree with his approach to finding the solution.
