Avinoam Nowogrodski: What we have created in Clarizen is collaboration in context. It’s in context of getting work done and promoting work. If I would just use another term, which is a bit more complex because I come from the area of product lifecycle management, it’s all about the work-life cycle management collaboration. You need to collaborate in context of work-life cycle and not just collaboration for the sake of collaboration.
I don’t think that the world needs another Facebook for the enterprise. I don’t think that this is getting the enterprise to a place where they can better understand their business and therefore, be much more efficient in their decision making process. At the end of the day, enterprises have to know how to differentiate between priorities. It’s not about another Facebook for the enterprise.
Sramana Mitra: It is not another Facebook for enterprise and you have a vision for collaboration. How do you frame that?
Avinoam Nowogrodski: The main difference is that we are taking the so-called enterprise social graph and we have created the enterprise work graph. If we look at the social graph, it has people, conversations, and the content that people share. What is missing is the fact that you need to add work. The work is about the work that is being done within an enterprise, which is customers, documents, tasks, projects, requests, and cases. Basically we have turned and come up with a vision around developing the work graph for the enterprise, which gives you the ability to navigate within this work graph.
For instance, when you are focusing on a customer, you can immediately understand all the conversations that you had about this customer. When you look at this customer, suddenly you can see all the documents that you sent to this customer. You can see all the cases that this customer has. You can see all the projects and tasks that you were doing. Every time you are navigating within the work graph, you get a 360 degree picture on each and every element that you have in the graph.
The good side of it is that this graph is being built only by the fact that people are just doing their job. Nobody needs to go and create those links like you needed to do in that past when you wanted to build a project. You needed to create dependencies and put the task in, and do all this stuff, which is tedious.
