Sramana Mitra: What are you learning? What are people interested in answering?
Yossi Peretz: It depends on the crowd. There’s no definite answer. Each country has its own trend. India is more about cricket. In general, sports is very popular. Since the core of our users are from the crypto community, definitely crypto-economics and crypto companies are very popular.
We learn about various trends and try to cross-reference between different fields. If somebody answers a question about politics, would he also be interested in football? There is no definite answer. For example, people were not interested in answering Oscar-related predictions. I don’t know why. We discovered that it’s not.
Sramana Mitra: Interesting. I’d have also thought that that would be popular.
Yossi Peretz: We are starting with the crypto community. We have almost 100,000 users registered in less than two months. At the moment, the crowd is not interested in these types of events.
Sramana Mitra: How long have you been doing this?
Yossi Peretz: The company was established around a year ago. We started development around six months ago releasing a few major versions along the way. We’re at a better state now. A month after starting to work, we released a very basic concept just to feel the crowd and try to work from there. We continuously release by analyzing the data and the trends.
Sramana Mitra: It’s a very early stage project at this point.
Yossi Peretz: At the moment, yes.
Sramana Mitra: It seems to me that it’s the kind of stuff that would go well with communities that are doing stock prediction stuff. If you could white-label, they would probably be interested in something like this.
Yossi Peretz: Correct. Part of our roadmap is instead just about asking the general crowd about specific markets, let’s say asking the crowd in China about specific questions related to the country. Maybe asking experts in economics about a future economic event. It’s part of the use cases that we’ll look into eventually.
Sramana Mitra: That gives me an idea about what you’re doing. I’m going to switch the line of questioning a bit and ask you what you see out there that are interesting areas of Blockchain that are open problems.
Yossi Peretz: Blockchain has its own problems of scalability and latency. The current situation of Blockchain technology is pretty much at the beginning. When we look ahead, Blockchain is going to be part of our future. I’m making a separation between Blockchain and cryptocurrencies.
Blockchain is the infrastructure. We believe it’s the future of technology. It will be evolving. I would say it would be part of every major technology. We’ll have some kind of information located under Blockchain as part of the crowd’s leaning towards transparency. It helps avoid mistakes.
