Amit provides an excellent overview of the Identity space and some new developments in the Managed Service Provider market that are consequential for long-term trends.
Sramana Mitra: Let’s introduce our audience to yourself as well as to Saviynt.
Amit Saha: I’m the CEO of Saviynt. I’ve been working in the Identity space for 25 years helping organizations overcome some of the identity challenges. As of now, I’m helping organizations understand how identity can solve cybersecurity requirements as well in the coming years. I’ve been with Saviynt for over 10 years now. I took on the role of CEO in 2018.
Saviynt is one of the leaders in Identity being delivered as SaaS. We have been driving our vision of converging various use cases and products or markets. Our vision is to drive convergence and better synergy when we look at all these products from a single identity. We have been in the market for over 10 years now delivering identity as a SaaS platform and solving a lot of the complex identity and compliance requirements.
Sramana Mitra: Could you do me an ecosystem map? We’ve covered identity quite extensively. We are very familiar with the Okta’s. If you could sketch out an ecosystem map and how you position map, that would help us.
Amit Saha: Identity is a very broad domain. It’s actually expanding quite a bit. On one side, you have the access management players who are focusing real-time access, whether it is a single sign-on or validating your identity by MFA or other authentication mechanisms. Saviynt doesn’t fall in that.
There are two or three other distinct domains of identity that are coming up. Once an identity is created, how do we take that and ensure that in all your downstream applications, the appropriate access is granted at all points in time giving them the ability to request additional access and review that access on a continuous basis and ensure that it’s always appropriate and adequate. That is where the Identity Governance and Admin (IGA) is. That is one of our core offerings.
On the other side of the spectrum, you have privileged users and cloud identities. Those are the two additional domains that are in the identity market. Saviynt is expanding and looking at offering products and solutions in those areas as well.
On the privileged access management side, that’s dealing more with how privileged users are secure. How do we ensure that their access are monitored, logged, and audited at all times. Saviynt has also expanded the privileged access management (PAM) offering and brought it to any application. We extend it to the cloud IaaS providers where infrastructure is nothing but code. We also extend it to your SaaS players like securing privileged access in Salesforce or SAP. That’s one of the things that we have been driving.
Lastly is the emerging market which we call CIEM or Cloud Infrastructure and Entitlement Management. All of this is part of the broader identity umbrella. Saviynt is playing an active role in offering relevant CIEM components as part of our platforms and ensuring that we not only secure the on-premise assets but also secure your cloud infrastructure, workloads, as well as application assets in a more comprehensive manner.
