Movius is doing something very interesting in the Cloud-based Communication space to decouple the phone number of an employee from the device and the number it is attached to. You will encounter the use cases and the rationale in this interview. Cool stuff!
Sramana Mitra: Let’s start at the beginning and introduce you to our audience.
Ananth Siva: We are a digital disruptor in the tech space that has fundamentally revolutionized how enterprise mobility is consumed. Since leaving the corporate world in 2005, I did my first startup in the GPS space. We exited that. Subsequently, we worked in the Big Data and Predictive Analytics space. Long before the world knew about bots and AI, we were market leaders.
Most recently when I took this opportunity at Movius, we found a very unique opportunity to help businesses, large and small, reimagine their workspace and future of work. We are able to take a software-driven solution in this cloud service to what was historically a network-driven approach to the market. In so doing, we’ve driven three key values that our customers most enjoy.
The reason we exist is to protect the firm. This could be Los Gatos Roofing down in Los Gatos, California who have employees in the field, but they often bring their personal devices to the workplace. How does a small business deploy, manage, and control key assets? We help revolutionize how we can do that all the way to the other end of the spectrum. We’ve been in a lot of the recent news. Some of our largest clients have all been subject to SEC fines. We serve the largest institutions in banking, healthcare, pharma, and other industries.
The second thing we do is employee engagement. Employees are, more and more, being overpopulated with endpoints. They are being asked to manage multiple devices. The engagement of an employee with a firm is a very important factor. We are in a fortunate position to be able to inspire employees by giving them access to the same service that we provide. We’ll talk more about the service we provide across all endpoints. Imagine that the same number follows you on CRM so your customers don’t have to see multiple personas. If you’re a wealth manager for a bank or medical practitioner, they know where the contact is coming from.
The third piece is the fact that we are able to give a customer the ability to reach and trust the company they’re doing business with. The ability to provide a single number that is a property of the firm available to the employee deployed over the cloud, and delivered across all channels or touchpoints.
Sramana Mitra: I heard two things primarily. You protect employee-owned devices as they plug into the corporate system. Secondly, I heard that you provide uniformity in the presentation of an employee as that employee interacts with other stakeholders – customers, partners etc.
Ananth Siva: You’re right. If I can take that one step further, employees today have a personal identity. When they leave the firm, they take that identity with them. With Movius deployed on these employee handsets, we give a firm-owned identity on the employee’s personal device.
There’s complete separation from the employee’s personal activity on the device. Any interaction that happens in the business line becomes a property of the firm. I’m representing my brand Movius. This is the property of my firm. We’ve been able to reimagine that and provide a cutting-edge solution that is being widely accepted in the industry as the best in class.
