These days, everyone is a startup mentor. There doesn’t seem to be a shortage of self-proclaimed mentors anywhere in the world.

The question, however, is what is good mentoring?

If you are an entrepreneur, what kind of a mentor should you be looking for?

Let me share some of my own experiences with mentoring entrepreneurs and the philosophy with which I have built 1Mby1M.

I have tapped into the knowledge base of the entrepreneurs building businesses and the investors investing in them.

I don’t have any illusion that I have all the answers.

But in many, many domains of tech entrepreneurship, I have brought in entrepreneurs who do have specific domain knowledge and lessons from the trenches.

I have focused heavily on case studies.

As such, the body of work that I have created can be accessed by ALL mentors and ALL entrepreneurs who want to access such direct, visceral lessons from experienced founders.

I cannot imagine how a startup mentor sitting in Kolkata, having never built a Digital Health venture, can mentor entrepreneurs in that domain without the help of some material like this.

I talk to Cyber Security entrepreneurs all the time. They have specific issues.

I talk to AI startups all the time. They too have specific issues.

If I were an AI entrepreneur anywhere in the world, I would want to listen to a bunch of people building startups in my domain. I would want to learn from THEM.

And, in my own mentoring work within 1Mby1M, I lavishly use the case studies to illustrate whatever strategy I suggest.

So, below is another series of Udemy courses with discount coupons on domain specific lessons from the trenches.

Entrepreneurs can use them.

Mentors can ALSO use them.

On top of these, in 1Mby1M, we do have direct, project-based mentoring available. You can look at 1Mby1M Premium.

To get a feel for how these work, come talk to me at a free mentoring roundtable. I am very easy to reach.

Mentors, if you want to bring a group of your mentees (minimum 5) to a free roundtable, you can request a custom roundtable by contacting Irina Patterson.
