Net Transmit & Receive S.L. (NTR Global) is a leading European maker of remote support/access solutions with a presence in over 60 countries. Co-founded in 2000 by Tomás Casanovas, Luis Font, and Joan Pons, the company is one of the biggest players in the European market with more than 14,000 customers. NTR is headquartered in Barcelona, Spain and operates in North America out of Dallas, Texas.
This SaaS provider offers three solutions: NTRadmin, NTRconnect Pro and NTRsupport. NTRsupport allows users to provide instant remote support to their customers and employees through computers and pocket PCs. It is available in two models: as SaaS or as an on-premise software solution. The application won the Network Products Guide 2008 Best Product Award on the Windows Mobile Platform by Network Products Guide. The application was also named as the 2008 TMC Labs Innovation Award winner by Technology Marketing Corporation.
With NTRconnect Pro, users can connect to their PCs and Macs remotely. The solution allows users unlimited access to their computers, enabling them to access corporate intranets and boot/shut-down computers through remote access. It also gives them full keyboard, mouse, and screen control of the remote computer. Other notable features of the solution include security reports that allows users to view all login attempts on their computers and the ability to improve access security by strengthening passwords with a keycard to block illegal access to the computer. NTRconnect Pro is priced at $9.95 for one computer, $8.98 per computer for two to nine computers, and $7.81 per computer for 10 to 20 computers.
NTRadmin allows IT administrators to manage their IT assets—either within a network or through an Internet connection—so that they can diagnose and resolve issues instantaneously. NTRadmin, through NTRadmin bots, also has several task management capabilities including running or scheduling onetime or periodic tasks and deploying network tasks (even if computers are offline). The company charges $250 a year for administration console, a $200 one-time lifetime customer support fee per administration console, and a quoted monthly charge for the solution.
The company’s applications are offered in 15 languages, including those with double-byte characters. The applications are hosted from 11 secure data centers around the world that have fail-over capabilities to ensure robust performance and reliability. NTR’s customers include Datamatic, Deusto, Lufthansa Flight Training, TUI, BASF, Samsonite, and Sage, among others.
NTR is well capitalized and has had three rounds of funding so far. It raised its seed capital from angel investors; €11.7 million in a Series B from Elaia Partners and Debaeque Venture Capital, along with Tomás Casanovas, the company’s president; and €34 million in a Series C from Kennet Partners and Atlas Venture, along with the company’s existing backers. NTR will use the majority of the amount raised to accelerate growth.
