Sramana: Emails have become multiplatform and multidevice. I have the exact same email trail on my phone, iPad, and computer. I can see it on every device. When it comes to text messaging, I can see it only on my phone. I don’t have a trail of it everywhere else. It’s not a business communication tool [for me].

Jocelyn Denis: My main goal is to determine if there is any business for us in the U.S.

Sramana: I am not sure there is; it is a very competitive market. The use model here does not play to your strengths. I think you will find more success in Asia. It will also be less expensive because it is very expensive to penetrate the U.S. market.

Jocelyn Denis: The U.S. is a very expensive market to penetrate. When it comes to international strategies, we are open to all opportunities. We are thinking about Asia more and more.

Sramana: Europe should also be a big opportunity for you.

Jocelyn Denis: Digital direct marketing is a huge market. I must define the priorities. Asia and Europe are those priorities. I am happy with my U.S. plan so far because it has given me a lot of ideas and feedback about the product. We had to add them to be competitive in the U.S. market, but those features will also help us in Europe and in Asia.

Sramana: What about North Africa?

Jocelyn Denis: We have not tried that market yet, but there is demand there. We have had people contact us about opportunities there. Currently we are adapting our website to the international environment. We are building a customer-focused English-language website that demonstrates functionality and our value proposition.

Sramana: Your company is essentially at the stage where you are doing $8 million of revenue based on business in France, and you have to figure out where to go next. You have to figure out which scaling tools to take advantage of.

Jocelyn Denis: We have done something interesting with little investment. I now want to go big. The market is exploding now, and we have opportunities in foreign countries. We need to find the right strategy for sales, so I need to find the right sales director who has international skills. I need to have a strong team in place. I need to invest more in marketing and sales. We have arrived where we are today with only five people involved in sales. When we invest in sales, we need a return on investment rather quickly.
