Sramana Mitra: Why didn’t you introduce your company as a cloud-based testing company instead of all this digitization mumbo jumbo?
Ravi Reddy: Good question. We have four different solutions. Two of those are IT, one of those is cloud tester, and the other is called DevOps Express. Those are two solutions that are cloud-based. One is for integration automation. The other one is for testing automation. For the two business solutions, one is supply chain digitalization. The other solution is marketing digitalization.
Sramana Mitra: I understand cloud testing as a service, integration as a service, and DevOps. We get into the realm of not understanding what you mean by supply chain digitalization and marketing digitalization. Those are complex business functions in themselves. I’d like to understand in each case what is the value that you bring to the table.
You can take any example from your customer base. Let’s do a use case on your supply chain digitization and one case in marketing digitization.
Ravi Reddy: In supply chain digitalization, there are numerous use cases. In manufacturing, we have a use case called Orient Electric, which manufactures electric switches, fans, and so on. We have a use case with Gulf Oil. We have a case study in agriculture where there is fertilisers, pesticides, and seeds companies. We have close to 35 use cases ranging from $200 million companies to $20 billion companies. We believe in the three towers of digitalization. One is product innovation, supply chain, and marketing.
Within supply chain, we have our own proprietary technology called E-Feel. We actually put an E-Feel on the product, which is what we call passive IoT. It is connected on the shop floor. As the product comes out of the shop floor, it basically scans that E-Feel which has information on the E-Feel cloud application. Every product now has an identity in the cloud. Because we don’t have restrictions on how many characters can go against that product ID, which we call E-Feel ID, the information that you store against the product is very persona-centric.
That means if it is a consumer, what that consumer sees when he scans the product is very different from what information you want your supplier and distributors want to see. By doing that, we have done a couple of things. Once we put a passive IoT, which in some form is a QR Code, when a product moves through the supply chain, we can actually track the product throughout the supply chain, because within the E-Feel cloud application, we’ve built the hierarchy wherein you know primary, secondary, to tertiary. If you scan a truck, you know how many products are in this truck. Throughout the supply chain as it goes from warehouse, distribution centre, retailer, to consumer, you can actually track the product all the way through.
