Sramana Mitra: Let’s do a few use cases that give us a flavor of this, that, and other kind of integration going on in your large clients. Then we can even do one from your smaller downmarket clients.

Chris McNabb: The first use case is one that I’ve already given. If somebody were to buy a cloud SaaS software like Salesforce and they need to integrate it back into many of their on-premise systems, we provide solutions in order for them to do that quickly. Some others do, what we refer to as lift and shift. I’m going to take my SAP system and run it on Amazon.

Once you move it to that other location, you need integration technologies to connect it back to the systems it was connected to in the enterprise. We provide solutions for that as well.

A third regular case is people want to be able to put out onto mobile devices for their employees, customers, and partners access to some of their information systems held in their data centers. We provide a platform from which people can create web services and APIs. They can also have that as the backend of a mobile application that gives people access to those systems behind the data center in a very controlled and secured way, so as to be able to serve and get out to market mobile applications in a very rapid way.

Finally, one of the other big things that we do is something called EDI or Electronic Data Interchange. The spend in this segment has been growing fairly rapidly. EDI is exchanging of file information predominantly in a retail setting between partners, supply chain, or an ecosystem that they’re trying to manage.

If we were a company that produced cameras and sell those to big-box retailers, those retailers would exchange information with me around how many units were sold, what they were sold for, and inventory control. We do that with our platform as well. A large enterprise may have three or four of those different scenarios readily on their books as challenges to be addressed. We have a unified platform that can come along and address many of those use cases that people see on a regular basis.
