Sramana Mitra: Talk to me about ROI. Supposing I am Daily Mail and I have a huge inventory. I have 100 million readers. What is your proposal to me? What can you do to my site? In terms of monetization, how much can you deliver? If I gave you access to my full inventory, what can you do to my site?
David Kashak: The big promise is, first, we’re able to help you edit your site. You’re able to come to our platform and easily create units.
Sramana Mitra: I understand from a workflow point of view. Talk to me about ROI. If I went and really bet on your technology, where can we go from a monetization point of view? What kind of financial impact would you have on my business?
David Kashak: With video, we tap into this big video demand that there is out there. Most people like to consume video. Advertisers are making more and more branded content videos. They are willing to pay 5 to 10 times more than a regular banner or article. As a publisher, you are able to easily tap into this demand and increase your revenues.
Sramana Mitra: If I’m a publisher, I have the option of placing video advertisements into my inventory and dramatically improve the CPMs based on that. Why should one you versus other ad networks who are also pushing video advertising now?
David Kashak: When we provide a solution to publishers, we provide them with a full stack, easy-to-use solution. They can, very easily and safely, create the units using our platform and match them to the look and feel of their editorial content. The units come with a player, CMS platform, and full monetization from the demand partners that we have.
They can, pretty much, grow and ingest their own content into those units and do a couple of things. They can use our app for monetization or they can sell themselves into the unit. Those publishers who sell package deals to advertisers and are unable to deliver those sponsorship packages, they can use our network of publishers to continue and deliver the campaign. That’s basically my vision.
That’s what we are building here in Connatix – an ecosystem of publishers that are using our platform. They can take our units, monetize themselves, get monetization from partners, or get content syndicated from other publishers in the network. Once you join our network, you’re joining this club of publishers and you’re able to benefit from all parts of the ecosystem.
Sramana Mitra: Where are you this year? What’s happening in 2016?
David Kashak: We’re going to close around $15 million and we’re expecting to grow that three times next year.
Sramana Mitra: How many people do you have now?
David Kashak: We’re going to be 31 by the end of this year.
Sramana Mitra: This includes the Romanian development team and the team in New York?
David Kashak: Yes, along with three people in Israel.
